Descripción de la iniciativa

EEuropaBio's mission is to promote an innovative and dynamic biotechnology-based industry in Europe. It is involved in the research, development, testing, manufacturing, sales, and distribution of biotechnology products and services in the fields of healthcare, agriculture, food and the environment.

Within its mission, EuropaBio has implemented a number of activities that have contributed to capacity-building in biosafety. For example, it has developed a framework for capacity building requirements for biosafety in developing countries, which identifies key needs for regulation of health and safety of humans and environmental safety.

One of EuropaBio's objectives is to encourage better mutual understanding of ethical and safety concerns related to biotechnology through informed dialogue and consensus. EuropaBio believes that the future of European biotechnology will be bright if public confidence and acceptance can be won and if the regulatory framework provides a stable, coherent, transparent and predictable environment that fosters its development.
