Biosafety project, under the umbrella of EEAA and UNEP aims at:
- assist Egypt to have a fully functional and responsive regulatory regime in line with CP and national needs.
- assist Egypt to have a functional national system for handling requests, performing risk assessment, decision-making, performing administrative tasks, handling, storing and exchanging information in line with the BCH requirements.
- assist Egypt to have a functional national system for "follow-up", namely monitoring of environmental effects and enforcement.
- assist Egypt to have a functional national system for public awareness, education, participation and access to information.
